Be seen, heard and understood
“As a five-year-old at primary school, my teachers were unable to understand my means of coping with a hearing loss and this was labelled as a “behavioural issue”. As a result, the school requested my removal to a nearby school with a Special Education Needs Unit, where it was subsequently found that I had no need to be there. My hearing loss was misinterpreted at great upheaval to me and my family. With the right support and awareness, there is no way that this could have happened.”

Why me?
I am dedicated to breaking down the barriers that stop young people with hearing loss from fulfilling their potential. I do that by:
Bringing a balanced approach to problem-solving from my experience in the corporate world. I’ll always consider what’s good for the individual and what’s good for business.
I bring lived experience of best practices from my lifetime of hearing loss. I have personally experienced what works, and what doesn’t, and have led teams of people with hidden disabilities to excel in the workplace.
I am a role model for what ambitious people can achieve with the right support at the right time, showing that disability is an advantage, not a hindrance. I am working to serve other ambitious individuals to achieve their dreams whatever they may be.
